Ara Online Orientation

The Ara Online Orientation Project was envisioned by Diana Law to address issues with the current student orientation process at Ara Institute. The idea is to offer an end to end application which will be available for student use at any time, reducing the need for lengthy orientation processes and ongoing staff support. It will replace some of the more outdated resources currently in use, such as the PowerPoint, and support others like the Campus Life website and direct staff assistance.

Working with a team of computing students and a fellow design student we created a online platform for the beautifully diverse Ara population. This including starting from the ground up, creating wire frames, user testing, interviewing stakeholders, background research into the Ara population, leading presentations to Ara staff and management and of course creating hundreds of icons and digital illustrations.
